She tells Dineo: “Persevering, you know how it is and how we do as women – we love hard. Everything doesn’t always workout out but there is a story. And music is definitely the soundtrack to my life.”
The musician notes that her music is inspired by personal experiences.
“One of my favourites that I wrote is Rather Be Alone Than Be Unhappy.
“We feel like we need someone to fill that void, but sometimes you should be alone to get yourself together.”

On battling depression and bouncing back.
Our guest, Karyn White opens up about a dark time in her life that took her away from music.
“There was something that took me away from the music, it was me. I was battling depression, and divorce at the same time, and my mom died. I kind of lost faith in why I was doing the music. I stopped singing.
“This was in 97 and it was a tough time for me.”
What helped Karyn bounce back is her faith.
“God, prayer, and just being around positive people. Most of all my heavenly father and knowing that I was called to do this.
“I knew that I wanted to do this all my life and found that I wasn’t being successful. I was successful at u but my life wasn’t successful,” Karyn White tells 959 Breakfast with Dineo and Sol.
