DJ Zinhle has defended her decision to keep Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes present in her daughter, Kairo’s life.
Speaking out on Twitter, Zinhle, who is married to artist Murdah Bongz, has come under heavy scrutiny for the manner in which she is mourning her eldest daughter’s late father, AKA.
While Zinhle and Murdah Bongz seem perfectly happy to ensure that Kairo remembers her father on important dates, the Twitter streets have referred to Zinhle as an “alpha widow.”
Zinhle, who has been ridiculed for expressing that she is still not able to come to terms with AKA’s passing, has been accused of emasculating her husband on social media, and pining over her ex and baby daddy.
AKA, who was gunned down outside a restaurant on Florida Road, Durban in February this year, is still acknowledged in social media posts by Zinhle.
On days that holds significance for Zinhle and her past relationship with AKA, or in relation to their daughter, Kairo, Zinhle will pen how she feels about the slain rapper, to much criticism.
The mother of two, hit back at her critics, saying as much as a difference in opinion is respected, the family structure she has with her husband is built on peace, love and support, in the best interest of their kids.
This comes after Zinhle posted a father’s day message to AKA from Kairo on Sunday, 18 June.
Zinhle has a daughter with Murdah Bongz, and says how they go about parenting their children involves everything that benefits them.
“Our family structure is built on peace, love, support and the well being of our kids.. We will continue in this way, it really doesn’t matter how many times there are debates about us.. maybe this is what needs to happen for people to start unlearning pride-driven habits that don’t benefit our kids.
While we absolutely respect and can appreciate the different opinions about our lives, our number one priority is and will always be Kairo and Saint.. their well-being is more important to us than any opinion or ridicule you throw at us.
You might not get it now but one day you will.
Watch and learn.. It’s okay to live in a loving environment.”
