An Ohio father who executed his 3 sons on Thursday, 15 June, has admitted that he planned their deaths for months.
Chad Doerman, 32, was arrested after his wife’s distressing 911 call saw officers dispatched to their Monroe township home to discover the heinous crime.
The three boys, aged, 3, 4 and 7-years old were lined up in the family’s front yard and shot at close range in the head by their father, with a rifle.
When one of the boys tried to escape by running into a field, Doerman chased him down, dragged him back to his front yard and shot him.
Doerman’s wife and daughter witnessed the entire tragedy, and when his wife tried to stop him from hurting her children by grabbing the rifle, her husband shot her in the hand.
In his admission statement, Chad Doerman told officers that he planned his son’s murders for months, although he didn’t give a motive for his depraved actions.
Making a bond (bail) court appearance on Friday, 16 June, prosecutors made history setting the highest bond ever at $20 million.
Bodycam footage from Doerman’s arrest shows him telling officers he’s not going to hurt anybody, as the bodies of his three sons lay in his yard.
Doerman asked to be place in protective custody but the court did not grant him this privilege.
The father has been charged with aggravated murder and remains in custody.
