He calls himself the “real Tarzan” and Mike Holston may just as well be for his penchant to roll around with tigers, crocodiles and taking showers with snakes.
The exotic animal specialist and zookeeper at the Zoological Wildlife Foundation of Mario and Maria Tabraue in Miami, Florida gained widespread attention after sharing a video where he is showering with his pet anaconda.
The large snake, often considered one of the most formidable predators in the animal kingdom, is seen comfortably coiling around the man’s shoulders as he rinses the deadly snake.
The video of Holston and his anaconda has received mixed reactions online, with some expressing amazement and admiration for the evident trust and affection between the real Tarzan and his pet.
Others voice concerns about safety and the appropriateness of keeping such a powerful animal in a domestic setting.
Anacondas are native to South America and are among the largest snakes in the world. Known for their impressive size and strength, these snakes typically inhabit swamps, marshes, and slow-moving streams. They are non-venomous constrictors, meaning they subdue their prey by wrapping around it and squeezing until the prey suffocates.
While anacondas can be intimidating due to their size and power, they are not inherently aggressive towards humans unless provoked or threatened. In captivity, they can form bonds with their handlers, especially if raised in a controlled and caring environment.
