Thabo Molefe, popularly known as Tbo Touch will be breaking into the film industry with his soon-to-be-released documentary on COVID-19.
“Vaccinating the Arts,” is a three-part doccie that will focus on how the global arts industry failed to recover from the pandemic.
He hopes the documentary will highlight the importance of getting vaccinated so theatres can be full to capacity once again.
Production is said to have begun on Monday, 12 July and will run until September with several locations across Africa and the USA pinned for the shoots.
Tbo Touch will be working on the documentary together with Mark Sparks Entertainment and expressed his excitement in an interview with Sunday World.
“For me, it is not only about working with an international team, but it’s about teaching the world about the importance of vaccinating so we will be able to gather and enjoy our social lives again.”
The first part of the series will look into how the virus affected the arts and entertainment industry. Tbo Touch shared that a number of well-known artists will be included in the doccie.
A number of artists have expressed how difficult the pandemic has been on their livelihood, with many staging sit-ins at the National Arts Council offices in March.
The artists were forced to vacate the offices after the NAC was granted a court order from the South Gauteng High Court.
