Loadshedding is set to resume tonight as Eskom is unable to meet current user demands. The power utility blames a constrained power generation system and two days of breakdowns for the system overload.
Stage 3 loadshedding will be implemented from 13h00 (10 February) until 06h00 tomorrow morning (11 February).
The aim is to replenish emergency energy reserves and maintain a stable capacity with the energy provider falling short of 14 000 megawatts capacity due to breakdowns and delays.
Eskom currently has 4000 megawatts of planned maintainence. Spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha urges customers to use electricity sparingly.
