Zimbabwean international footballer, Khama Billiat is one of the players currently out of contract at Kaizer Chiefs.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the 32-year-old refused a reduced contract offer from the PSL giants.
Issuing an update on Saturday, 08 July, Chiefs revealed through a statement that they offered Billiat a new contract to stay at the club following the conclusion of his previous contract. However, to date, the player has not responded to the offer or any attempts to contact him.
Kaya 959 understands that Billiat was last seen at the Kaizer Chiefs Village on June 29 and has “not answered any of the calls made or messages sent to him by the Club.”
The team is currently in camp with all the players preparing for the new season.
Itumeleng Khune to stay at Chiefs
Itumeleng Khune, a legendary player for Kaizer Chiefs, also found himself in a situation where his contract with the club had expired. However, Kaizer Chiefs offered the player a one-year contract extension.
In their official statement, the club acknowledged Khune’s immense contribution and expressed their desire to retain him for another year. While Khune will remain involved in training sessions and preparations for matches as a player, the club also recognized his potential in other areas.
Khune would have the opportunity to expand his technical knowledge and skills. As part of his transition into a new phase, he will take on coaching responsibilities and serve as an ambassador for the club. Khune’s involvement with the marketing division will allow him to contribute his expertise and further strengthen the club’s brand.
