French footballer, Kylian Mbappe left the pitch with blood pouring down his face after breaking his nose in his team’s Euro 2024 clash against Austria.
The French forward will reportedly need to wear a mask when, or if he returns to the tournament, after his head smashed into the shoulder of Austrian defender, Kevin Danso on Monday, 16 June.
While France won their opening game against Austria by 1-0, Mbappe was forced to leave the pitch in the 90th minute due to his injury.
As reported by the BBC, Mbappe will not require immediate surgery, but it is unclear at this stage if the French captain will make the squad for Friday’s match against the Netherlands.
Mbappe, who’s just signed a 5-year contract with Real Madrid was given a yellow card following the incident which led to his broken nose, after he returned to the pitch without permission.
