Several roads will be closed near the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) has shared the details of the several roads that will be closed near the Union Buildings in Pretoria ahead of the Presidential inauguration on Wednesday, 19 June 2024.
The President-elect, members of Parliament, dignitaries, foreign heads of state, as well as other visitors and members of the public, are anticipated to attend the presidential inauguration. The heads of state or government and the delegates are anticipated to enter at a separate port of entry, according the TMPD.
Visitors and the general public will be able to park their cars at Rietondale Park and take the bus to the Union Buildings. The shuttles will run from three in the morning until six in the morning.
It is recommended that those living in the streets that are impacted by the restrictions near the Union Buildings and Rietondale pick up their permits at the Pieter Delport Center, located at 770 Government Avenue, Eastcliff, Pretoria.
The Union Buildings will have the following road closures in place starting at 3 a.m. on Wednesday and ending at 6 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024:
