Popular South African soccer magazine Kick Off is shutting down.
This was revealed on Sunday in the latest and final edition of the magazine.
Kick Off Magazine was founded in 1994 by Rob Moore.
As of 2015, Kick Off Magazine had over 1.5 million readers according to industry requirements.
Editor Zola Doda says the last 10 years have been the toughest they have faced.
“Unfortunately, with rising inflation, increasing fuel and paper prices, and a decline in circulation and advertising sales, the last 10 years have been the toughest we have faced.”
The Covid-19 pandemic didn’t make the situation any better.
“The COVID-19 pandemic which saw local football on hold for almost 6 months had a devastating impact and made it difficult for them to reach pre-pandemic levels once football returned.
