Over the weekend, a Southern California kid shoved a bear off a wall after it got into an altercation with the family’s pets at their house.
The incident occurred in the San Gabriel Valley foothills, east of Los Angeles, and was captured on house surveillance camera. Hailey Morinico assumed her dogs were howling at other dogs or a squirrel, but it turned out they were howling at a bear and two cubs.
‘I was like ‘Oh my God, there’s a bear, and it is taking my dog. It is lifting her up off the ground,’ Hailey told NBC Los Angeles.
The video shows the bears wandering on the wall outside the residence in Bradbury, a community bordered by the Angeles National Forest and the San Gabriel Mountains.
“The dog that the bear grabbed, she’s the baby,” Hailey told the station. “I have to protect the baby.”
