Xhosa Comedian, Siya Seya recently joined My Top 10 at 10 with Tbose.
He is a two-time Savanna Comics’ Choice Award winner who has had many South Africans in stitches. Over the years he has released more than 5 one-man comedy specials.
He spoke about how it took him 6 years to get to Joburg, and how Skhumba has been responsible to his rise in the comedy scene.
“I met Skhumba in 2011 on a show called 99% Xhosa comedy, there were like 5 comedians backstage from the Eastern Cape. I remember him saying the first comedian to go out there has to be from here, he will represent this place. So who’s going first? Comedians don’t want to go first. Everyone wants to be remembered. People had this notion that if you go first the audience is not going to remember you.”
In the interview he is talking about how he got into comedy while co-hosting the Best T In the City.
