Simphiwe ‘Simz’ Ngema is opening up about her weight loss journey more than one year after welcoming her son, Tiyani Kemorena Michael Chiyani.
The actress shared a before and after picture of the amount of weight she has lost post-baby.
“Picture on the left was taken two weeks ago, the one on the right was taken in April this year. Let me tell you, losing weight after giving birth is the hardest thing ever,” she wrote.
Simphiwe says she was hungry all the time after giving birth.
“I ate a lot, I was also tired most of the time so I’d try work out every now and then but definitely wasn’t consistent. I really struggled.”
She says she started taking her weight loss journey seriously and reveals she got help from some wellness products.

Happy family
Losing the weight has been tough, but Simphiwe didn’t let it get her down. She instead focused on being the best mother she could be.
“I think people are quick to tell you about the challenges of new parenthood, but I’ve discovered many more facets to being a mom. No one really tells you how fun it can be. I feel like I’ve gained a new little best friend with an amazing personality and the ability to learn incredible things each and every day! We have such fun together!” she told True Love magazine in an interview.
Her partner, Tinotenda Chinyani, has been by her side every step of the way. Simphiwe recently praised him for being an amazing father to their son.
“You did it, you are finally becoming the man you’ve always wanted to be and it’s beautiful to see. It hasn’t been easy but you keep doing it. I am so proud of you. Your life is inspiring and if this is only the beginning.
“I cannot wait to see what God has in store for you. I love you Baba Ka Bhuka. You are an amazing father to our son and I will forever be grateful for the gift you’ve given me,” she wrote.
