Hate is a strong word but for Midday Joy listeners no other word aptly describes how they feel about these habits and actions of others.
Completing the phrase “I hate when people…”, listeners shared the social anxiety, stress and impact on their emotional state with Andy Maqondwana.
Granted it’s impossible to like every person in your life, whether work colleagues, friends or family members.
However some listeners have just reached the point where they lose patience or won’t tolerate insults, habits or uncomfortable situations any longer.
From noisy eaters to insensitive comments about weight gain, when you plan on getting married or having babies to constantly borrowing money, these are some of the things listeners hate when people…
Hate is a strong word
Habouring hatred can cause distress as it requires a lot of emotional energy.
Hate also causes other unhealthy behaviour patterns such as passive aggression, manipulation, gossip and jealousy.
A state of distress can push people to self-soothe using comfort foods, alcohol or other substances to deal with the negative feelings

One of the best ways to figure out if you have traits that put others off is to learn from their interactions with you.
If someone who used to engage with you often suddenly limits your conversations, interactions or hang outs, there could be a deeper reason for it.
Have a discussion to iron out what their reasons are so you can stop rubbing people off the wrong way. Sometimes people may be too sensitive about hurting your feelings to confront you about these habits.
Many will then just put up with it to keep the peace or avoid contact with you altogether.
