Royal AM boss Shauwn Mkhize looks to have got her wish for the promotion play-offs to be suspended.
The Premier Soccer League play-offs were set to begin on Tuesday afternoon, following Sekhukhune United’s victory in the GladAfrica Championship on Saturday.
This was after the Johannesburg High Court ruled that Sekhukhune United be awarded the three points as per Arbitrator’s ruling.
Sekhukhune would then be awarded the points, and, therefore, becoming GladAfrica Championship champs with 53 points from 30 league games.
However, Mkhize had previously stated the day before the decision that the team would appeal if they were not proclaimed winners.
Royal AM then filed an urgent appeal against the decision to award the league title to Sekhukhune.
According to Mkhize’s Instagram post, the play-offs will not begin on Tuesday as planned.

Judge Nyathi initially ruled that the GladAfrica Championship log standings be returned to what they were on Friday, 11 June, only to reverse his ruling.
This means, Sekhukhune still top the GladAfrica Championship log while Royal AM remain second on the standings.
There are THREE conditions attached to Judge Nyathi’s ruling to suspend the play-offs, and they are:
1. Application be heard and determined as one of urgency.
2. First Respondents’ conduct is inconsistent with the constitution or PAJA.
3. Pending the final determination of leave to appeal, play-offs are suspended.
Reactions regarding the play-offs being suspended.
The fact that Royal AM bought medals, a cup and crowned themselves themselves as champion, this team should have already been charged for bringing the league into disrepute, if the PSL was properly run! No matter how much money they put in, psl regulations favours pic.twitter.com/geYBO1OWqk

Interdicts are about a clear right to protect not on whether there is any merit in your case. So once the judge found that you have a clear right then an interim Interdict will be granted. In my view yes, Royal AM has a clear right.
