President Cyril Ramaphosa tested positive for COVID 19 earlier this month on 12 December.
The president self-isolated since then and was treated for mild symptoms that he experienced as a result of the virus.
After a week of isolation, the president has ended his period of self-isolation.
The President thanked all South Africans for their well-wishes on his road to recovery.
In return, the president wishes anyone who is infected with COVID-19, a speedy recovery.
He urges all South Africans to vaccinate and to continue to abide by the safety protocol communicated.
He returns to duty and will chair the final Cabinet meeting for 2021 on Wednesday, 22 December 2021.
