Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan is adamant that he never set up a rogue unit at SARS.
The minister was responding to the cross-examination by Advocate Dali Mpofu.
Mpofu was questioning Gordhan at the State Capture Commission of Inquiry on behalf of his client, former SARS commissioner, Tom Moyane.
Gordhan says there was nothing wrong with a tax authority investigating non-compliance.
The minister says it was an investigative unit and not a rogue unit.

Heated exchange
Things got heated between Mpofu and Gordhan’s lawyer, Michelle Le Roux, during Tuesday’s cross-examination.
Mpofu told Le Roux to shut up at one point.
He made the remark when she cut him off while he was giving reasons as to why he objected to Gordhan giving a brief statement about how he feels about being called a racist.
Le Roux tried to explain why she wanted Gordhan to address the issue again despite Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo saying he did not need to.
“I’m on the floor… This cannot be happening for the third time. Ms Le Roux must shut up when I’m speaking,” Mpofu said.
