Residents of Roodepoort and Johannesburg south will have some respite from ongoing water issues as Rand Water has completed maintenance work at the Eikenhof pump station.
After going more than a week with no water supply due to the 1-month long maintenance project, affected areas will have water flowing as Eikenhof has been pumping at 100% since Wednesday, 10 July.
The maintenance project at Eikenhof was scheduled to run from 24 to 12 July, but was completed ahead of the 18-day deadline on 08 July.
All Johanneburg water systems that are supplied by Eikenhof are improving and supplying fairly to normally.

The scheduled maintenance from 22 June to 29 July is still underway at the Palmiet and Daleside Booster station as follows:
Palmiet will be pumping at 60% for 8-hours
- 15 July – Palmiet System
Palmiet pumping will be reduced to 68% for 50-hours
- 29 July – Palmiet System
Palmiet pumping will be reduced to 76% for 40-hours
