A month of water interruptions awaits residents of Johannesburg, as extensive maintenance of JHB Water’s infrastructure commences.
The scheduled maintenance from 22 June to 29 July will mean water supply will be impacted for the duration of the maintenance, at the Palmiet and Eikenhof pump stations.
In addition, the Daleside Booster station will also be affected.
JHB Water says the maintenance is necessary during the colder months to make provision for higher demand during periods when temperatures rise.
“The maintenance work will effect Johannesburg Water’s systems that are supplied by the Palmiet and Eikenhof pump stations as well as the Daleside Booster station. During this time, Johannesburg Water customers will be impacted by low pressure to no water supply. It is estimated that full recovery of the systems may take approximately 5-days or longer after the supply has been fully restored.”
