Gauteng Traffic Police is investigating an incident involving an 8-year old boy who was filmed driving his father’s SUV.
In a video shared by onlookers, a shocked elderly man from Roshnee, Vereeniging shared that he had to flag down the little boy who could barely see over the steering wheel.
While some onlookers found the incident to be amusing, the gentleman was taken aback that any parent could allow an 8-year old to drive on public roads unsupervised.
“This is ridiculous. Whose car is this? Is it your father’s car? Where is your father? Does he know that you took the car?”
The little boy responded that his father gave him the car and said that he knows how to drive. He told the man that he could follow him home so he could verify that his father knew he was taking a drive.
“Uncle you can follow me, so I can show you who my father is. My father is at home and knows that I have the car.”

A female in the background tells the group of onlookers not to record or post the child because, “he is just too cute.”
But the stunned older man wasn’t having it, and said, “no record it and put it online, I want the people in Roshnee to see this because it’s ridiculous.”
The man then tells the boy that he is going to follow him home, and gets into his car but the child drives off speedily and the video ends before the man can catch up to the boy.
Meanwhile, the Gauteng Traffic Police say all perpetrators involved will be brought to book.
