Vladimir Putin has at 87% of the vote been re-elected as President of Russia.
Russia’s election on Sunday saw President Vladimir Putin win in a record-breaking post-Soviet landslide, to become Russia’s president.
Early results indicated that ultra-nationalist Leonid Slutsky came in fourth, followed by newcomer Vladislav Davankov in third place and Communist candidate Nikolay Kharitonov in second place with little less than 4 percent.
As a result of the outcome, 71-year-old Putin, who got about 87% of the vote, surpassed Joseph Stalin to become the longest-serving head of state in Russian history.

Speaking after his election Putin who will be Russian President for the next 6 years sent a warning to his enemies and made it clear that they will never succeed, now and in the future.
“I think it has become clear to everyone. Whoever and however much someone wants to intimidate us, whoever and however much someone wants to suppress our will and consciousness, no one has ever, as I have already said, never succeeded in anything like this in history. They have not succeeded now and will not succeed in the future. Never”

According to election officials, the country’s turnout was 74.22 percent when the polls closed, higher than the 67.5 percent recorded in 2018.
