A US school shooting has claimed the lives of 19 primary school children and two teachers. This is the second mass shooting in the US this month.
Another 13 children
An 18-year old gunman, armed with an AR-15 rifle went on a rampage at Robb Elementary School in Texas.
The primary school caters to children between the ages of 7 to 10-years old.
Salvador Ramos was later shot by law enforcement. The shooter, is suspected to have killed his grandmother before targeting the school in Uvalde.
Much like the previous mass shooting at a US supermarket, Ramos was kitted in body armour, a rifle and a backpack.
It has been reported that Ramos abandoned the vehicle he was driving, after crashing into a ditch before he made his way to the school.
According to US media, Ramos is believed to have been a student in the area. The predominantly hispanic school has a total of 500 children enrolled.
The latest US school shooting has once again highlighted the need for stricter gun control laws in America.
Fred Guttenberg, father of Parkland victim Jaime Guttenberg, said politicians who do not support gun control legislation “led us to” today’s mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.
