Political analyst Moeletsi Mbeki didn’t hold back is his criticism of President Cyril Ramaphosa, when he lashed out at the state leader’s capabilities.
In a radio interview on Tuesday, Mbeki called Ramaphosa a party agent not a leader, saying the president goes wherever the wind blows.
Comparing Ramaphosa to his predecessors, Thabo Mbeki, Jacob Zuma and Nelson Mandela, Moeletsi Mbeki is of the view that the country was in better hands under anyone but Ramaphosa.
“Cyril is not a leader really. He was never a leader. He is an agent of the party but he presents himself as a leader. If you put him next to Nelson Mandela, Thabo Mbeki and even Jacob Zuma, he is not a leader because he does not believe in anything. He goes with the flow. He wakes up in the morning and says which way is the wind blowing and I am going go that way.”

According to Mbeki, the ANC government as a whole should be blamed for the myriad of problems the country is facing. This includes, poverty, unemployment, loadshedding, corruption and state capture.
Mbeki further says that Ramaphosa remains popular due to an efficient public relations team. He believes many of the country’s issues, including loadshedding is self made and the lacklustre ANC government is the reason.
