SARS officials and police have reportedly raided Shauwn Mkhize’s La Lucia, home in Durban.
According to reports, police and representatives of the South African Revenue Services (Sars) stormed the home of notorious businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize in La Lucia, Durban.
Shauwn Mkhize, also known as Mam’Mkhize, is a prominent South African socialite, businesswoman, philanthropist, and television personality.
In August, the service announced that it was making headway against her. Locksmiths were also present during the Tuesday afternoon raid, according to Newzroom Afrika.
According to reports, Mkhize owes Sars approximately R37 million in unpaid taxes, albeit the reasons for the raid have not been verified.
According to Afrian Times The raid was authorised by the Durban High Court on November 21, 2024 and authorised SARS to search and seize assets.
The publication states that SARS marked the assets to be preserved and later sold to pay off the tax debt Mkhize accumulated over the past few years
