Drug trafficking has led to the arrest of a 25-year-old Brazilian national at OR Tambo International Airport.
He was discovered with more than three kilograms of drugs wrapped around his body; they were later determined to be cocaine, which is worth an estimated R1.8 million.
The suspect was detained shortly after arriving from São Paulo, Brazil. The suspect is anticipated to show up in court shortly. The South African Police Service (SAPS) has detained at least 14 cocaine smugglers at OR Tambo International Airport in the last two months.

Over the past two months, SAPS has apprehended at least one drug mule at OR Tambo every week. One of those detained was a South African lady, age 21, who was the eleventh individual detained for drug trafficking.
