East London police have arrested a 36-year old woman who was found in possession of drugs worth R3 million.
On Saturday, 13 April the South African Police Service (SAPS) arrested the woman who was travelling via a bus from Bloemfontein, Free State to the Eastern Cape.
SAPS confirmed that 20 kg of crystal meth, also known as Tik worth an estimate R3 million was found in the woman’s bag.
“Information was received that a female passenger might be in possession of drugs.
The bus was spotted and followed to Windmill Roadhouse bus station, and the female passenger was pointed out.
Police requested permission to search her bag, which was granted by her. Upon searching the suspect’s bag, 15 bricks of drugs, suspected to be crystal meth was found.”
The woman is expected to appear at the East London Magistrates Court on Monday, 15 April to face charges of drug possession and dealing in drugs.
