Minister Blade Nzimande has dissolved the NSFAS board.
The board of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has been dissolved by Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande.
Nzimande notified the board that it had been dissolved effective immediately during a meeting on Thursday. On Friday, the ruling will be made public in the Government Gazette.
Ernest Khosa, the chair of the NSFAS, tendered his resignation on Thursday before Nzimande announced his intention to abolish the board. Khosa was purportedly connected to the erroneous tenders that NSFAS awarded to four service providers to oversee beneficiary payments.
