Popular Lekompo artist Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, known professionally as Shebshxt, has been denied bail.
The “Ambulance” hitmaker appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court earlier today, where the court ruled against his release.
The 30-year-old faces a string of serious charges, including three counts of attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, the negligent discharge of a firearm, two counts of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Shebeshxt was arrested in November this year on two counts of attempted murder linked to the alleged shooting of a motorist in Polokwane.
The court heard that some of the alleged offences were committed while he was already out on bail in another matter, a violation of his bail conditions.
In its ruling, the court found that releasing him could disturb public order and undermine the administration of justice.
Chauke will remain in custody over the festive season, with the matter postponed to 18 February 2026.
This is a developing story.
