Siviwe Thulare, the man arrested in connection with the murders of two children, Junior Mabandla and Peaceful Khoza in Pienaar, Mpumalanga has met his end due to mob justice.
The 18-year old who reportedly pointed out the shallow grave which he allegedly buried 6-year old Junior in, was expected to make a second appearance in court on Monday, 15 July.
Siviwe, who was charged for the murder of Junior was also linked to the kidnapping, rape and murder of 3-year old Peaceful from the area who was burnt to death.
According to police, Siviwe had been in hospital since 03 July when Junior’s remains were found in a shopping bag together with his clothes.
Upon the grim discovery, an angry mob attacked and beat Siviwe who was hospitalised and receiving medical treatment under police guard.
Police spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe confirmed Siviwe had passed on Thursday, 12 July.
Mathe said SAPS discourages mob justice as this jeopardises the solving of cases, including cases that may involve other victims or accomplices to the crime
Junior Mabandla was last seen on 03 June after he left his house to buy sweets with friends and never returned home.
The boy’s remains were found buried in someone else’s grave.
