The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has begun the process of appointing 10,000 young IT workers to help speed up the digitisations of its paper records.
The recruitment drive was first raised by President Cyril Ramaphosa during this year’s State of the Nation address.

In a written response to parliament, Minister of Home Affairs Aaron Motsoaledi said that he anticipates the employment of these young people will commence in May and says the Department is currently waiting for money from the treasury.
