Grade 8 learner from Ennerdale stabbed to death outside the school’s premises.
After being stabbed outside Oakdale Secondary School in Ennerdale, south of Johannesburg, Thursday morning, a Grade 8 student from the school passed away.
The student was allegedly stabbed following a fight between other learners. Additionally injured is a learner in Grade 10 who is presently in the hospital. The circumstances surrounding the incident are being looked into by the police.
Matome Chiloane, the MEC for Education for Gauteng, expresses his profound sadness over the incident.
“We have dispatched the Psycho-Social Support Team at the school to provide necessary counseling. And they will come back tomorrow morning since most of the learners were not permitted to do that. So, they will then continue with that process tomorrow. The MEC calls upon law enforcement agencies to apprehend the perpetrator.”
Ennerdale Community members are demanding for MEC Matome Chiloane to address, this follows the stabbing of a grade 8 pupil, who was stabbed yesterday.
