A masseuse at a five-star hotel in the Kruger National Park is believed to have accused finance minister Enoch Godongwana of sexual harassment.
The incident allegedly occurred on Women’s Day.
Godongwana on Saturday issued a statement saying a complaint of sexual harassment had been laid against him.
He said the case was opened a week after he visited Skukuza in the Kruger National Park, with his wife Thandisiwe.

He said he had not yet received official communication from the police and cannot comment further.
“It has come to Minister Godongwa’s attention that a case of alleged sexual harassment against him has been opened in Skukuza, Mpumalanga,”
“The minister of finance flatly denies the allegations of sexual harassment concerning an article that’s been circulating on social media.
“Furthermore, Mr Godongwana has received no formal complaint nor communication from the police.”
It is for this reason that he will refrain from any further comment or discussion on the matter until such a time that he deems appropriate with due consideration of the serious and sensitive nature of the alleged incident,” said his spokesperson, Mfuneko Toyana.
