Is Nhlanhla Lux the boy who cried wolf? To the Economic Freedom Fighters, Lux is just that, using the National Shutdown just for his own clout.
This after the Soweto Parliament member claimed his home was bombed twice and his entire family had been killed in Monday’s National Shutdown.
In a tweet, Lux said his house had been hit by two petrol bombs, just because they had beat the EFF at their own game. He ended the tweet by saying, “So they bomb and kill my entire family because they lost.”
However, when Police Minister Bheki Cele visited Lux’s home in Pimville Soweto on Monday, there was minimal damage to Lux’s double storey property.
Apart from a few windows that looked broken at his neighbour’s house, there wasn’t any further damage to the property.
Yet, when asked about his family’s wellbeing, Nhlanhla Lux said, “I haven’t consulted with my own family; since the bomb happened, I haven’t seen my own family or anybody else for that matter.
They all had to rush, and I had been operating with the police all night. Probably they’re hiding the fact that my kids are dead, but I won’t know that until I see them.”
There has been no confirmation that any member of Lux’s family has been injured or killed in yesterday’s protests.
Sinawo Thambo, the EFF’s spokesperson dismissed Lux’s claims that the party was behind the attack on his home as “baseless nonsense.”
