Dr Nandipha’s father, 65-year old Zolile Cornelius Sekeleni, was one of the suspects arrested for aiding and abetting fugitive Thabo Bester and his disgraced daughter.
Sekeleni, who previously said he was worried about the safety of his daughter and didn’t know of her whereabouts, is now believed to be the alleged mastermind behind Bester’s audacious escape from prison and the country.
The 65-year old faces charges of murder, aiding an escape, arson, defeating the ends of justice and fraud.
Dr Nandipha’s father was arrested on Friday, 07 April, at his home in Port Edward, while a 39-year old former G4S employee, who is also linked to Bester’s escape was arrested on Saturday, 08 April in Bloemfontein.
Both suspects appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 11 April.
SAPS spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe confirmed that Magudumana’s father and former G4S employee Senohe Matsoara, have a case to answer to.
“I can confirm that the investigating team have evidence linking Dr Magudumana’s father and the former G4S employee to aiding and abetting the convicted prisoner to escape from lawful custody.”

As reported by eNCA, police are also trying to trace Magudumana’s mother and brother who were reportedly living at her Hyde Park mansion shortly before Bester escaped from the Mangaung Correctional Center.
It is alleged that Dr Nandipha Magudumana stole three unclaimed corpses from Free State mortuaries, one of which was used to fake Bester’s death in prison.
Meanwhile, Thabo Bester and Dr Nandipha Magudumana have reportedly been arrested in Tanzania on Friday night.
The couple, who are said to be married through customary law were apprehended together with a Mozambican national while trying to cross the border into Kenya.
