It is unquestionable that in many communities, religion provides newly weds with a shared sense of values, ideology, and purpose that bolsters their partnership.
Point of View with Phemelo Motene spoke to marriage counsellors Magauta and Nhlanhla Zwane about the importance of understanding spirituality and the role it plays in a marriage.

“Issues of identity”: How you are experienced, how you are, and how at times there is a serious clash between who you are and how those closest to you experience you.”
“Purpose”: Why are you here? Why were you born? Was it something special and supernatural? How do you define your purpose?
“Meaning”: What meanings to attached to the good and bad things that happen to your life?
“Truth vs Reality”: When a couple doesn’t subscribe to the same truth and reality, there will always be a conflict.
“Certainty”: We all have a need for certainty, we want to be certain about things.
The also shared why it is important for every person entering into a life-long commitment to take time to fully answer these where they stand with all these dimensions.
