The family of Busisiwa Nxumalo who was allegedly killed by her employer for an insurance payout are relieved that the suspects will be remanded in custody.
Sithembile Xulu, a nurse who worked in Alberton and Simon Mogale appeared in the Lenasia Magistrates court on Tuesday, 16 July for what was meant to be the continuation of their bail hearing.
Xulu, who employed Nxumalo as a domestic worker is accused of being the mastermind behind the 21-year old’s gruesome murder.

Xulu was the sole beneficiary of the insurance policies she took out on Nxumalo, and was set to receive a R6 million payout if Nxumalo died from unnatural causes.
Nxumalo was brutally murdered and her throat was slit before her body was dumped at a site in Lenasia South.
The matter was postponed to Monday, 22 July at the attorney representing both the accused was not present.
