The body of the missing 4-year-old girl from Eldorado Park has been recovered from a drain in Freedom Park.
This comes after the child was reported missing on Thursday evening, 20 September at 20:30.
On Friday morning, EMS Search and Rescue teams, led by the Soweto K9 unit, joined the search for the child, which led to her body being recovered from a drain.
On arrival EMS extracted water and sewerage from the drain, leading to the recovery of the missing girl’s body.
South African Police Service (SAPS) is on scene waiting for the family to identify the body.

A case of murder has been opened and one suspect has been taken in for questioning.
EMS is pleading with Joburg residents to safeguard children at all times.
Investigations are continuing.
