Grammy-winning DJ Black Coffee, through his Black Coffee Foundation, has successfully raised R500 000 to assist families affected by the recent devastating floods in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.
The floods claimed 90 lives and displaced many residents.
The foundation launched a donation drive that garnered an “overwhelming” response from both individual donors and major corporate sponsors, including Nando’s, Hollywoodbets, Unilever, and Sompire.
In a statement, the Black Coffee Foundation expressed their gratitude, saying,
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Your kindness helped us raise R500,000 for families affected by the floods in Mthatha. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
Black Coffee’s initiative has been widely lauded as rescue and recovery efforts continue in the region, which is still grappling with the aftermath of the severe weather. His commitment to using his platform for positive change has resonated with many.
