Arthur Mafakote linked to R53 million corruption scandal.
According to allegations, musician and producer Arthur Mafokate and others are involved in the theft of R56 million in community development monies from the National Lotteries Commission (NLC).
Five non-profit organisations received funding of about R56 million for community development projects- with Mafokate being the sole director of one of the companies, according to SIU spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago.

The National Prosecuting Authority’s Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) and the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) have obtained a preservation order in connection with the alleged theft of lottery grant money intended for community development projects, from the high court in Pretoria to freeze three opulent properties, a plot, and a portion of a farm.

The order states that those implicated are:
“Prohibited and restrained from selling, disposing of, leasing, transferring, donating or dealing in any manner whatsoever with respect to the immovable properties.”
