South African actress and DJ Thuli Phongolo has taken to social media to send a cautionary message to music promoters and those interested in booking her.
Phongolo disclosed that her booking contact details have been hacked, prompting her to issue a stern warning to promoters against sending money or proceeding with any bookings.
“I am currently not accepting gigs until further notice. We are working on fixing this matter urgently. My apologies for any inconvenience.”
In 2022, Thuli Phongolo’s booking fee was leaked on social media, attracting mixed reactions across social media. According to her booking contract, Phongolo’s fee for a one-hour engagement amounted to 20k, a rate considered relatively reasonable in line with industry norms.
However, the stated fee does not encompass all the expenses associated with securing the services of the former Generations actress. Particularly if the engagement necessitates travel arrangements, the promoter is responsible for covering flight expenses. The specified arrangement involves business class travel for the artist and economy class travel for the manager. Additionally, transportation to and from the airport is to be provided.
The accommodation standard is set at a two-person stay in a 5-star hotel. This extends further; event extras encompass two bottles of Moet Nectar Imperial, along with 1 x Remy Martin VSOP, 1 x Hubbly, and mixers.
