The Moti family have released a statement denying father Nazim Moti obtained an interdict to prevent police from speaking to his boys.
The statement was shared via Yusuf Abramjee.
Thanking South Africans for their support and love at the 4 brothers’ disappearance in October last year, the family confirmed they have relocated to Dubai.
The family says their reasons for maintaining silence was due to safety.
“We have been living in fear of reprisal, which could be caused by speaking out and drawing further attention to ourselves,” the statement reads.
The family reiterates there is no interdict against the police and this can be confirmed with Major General Manala from SAPS.
After the brothers were released in November, it was alleged that Nazim obtained an ex-parte interdict to prevent his sons from being interviewed.
The decision to relocate was in order for the family to create a safe environment for their sons to recover from the trauma.
Appealing for privacy during this time, the Moti family hopes for the day they can safely return to South Africa.
Details about the boys’ release indicate the family paid a R50 million ransom. Negotiations were handled privately without the involvement of SAPS.
