Recently, renowned South African music duo Black Motion sat down with Bonolo BeeSting in an exclusive interview on The Hive. While the group has been making headlines for its musical accomplishments, the focus has shifted to some changes within the duo’s lineup.
Following MORDA’s announcement of pursuing a solo career, Black Motion unveiled a new member, which sparked mixed reactions among fans. Addressing the group’s split in a previous interview on 959 Breakfast in 2022, MORDA revealed feeling “hurt” upon learning about his replacement through social media. However, he expressed a sense of acceptance and shared plans to meet the new member.
Thabo Smol, one-half of Black Motion, shed light on how the new member, Problem Child, came to join the group.
“From the moment I saw him play, I was like, This guy is proper. He is full of skill and talent. He came through at the right time; it was effortless.”
“The first time we played, it was like a movement. It’s not about faces but about the movement and the music. He had everything that was needed. That’s how fate chose him.
“It’s all a movement, it’s not about replacing anyone. It’s a good match, and the chemistry has been there from the moment we saw him play back in the day,” said Thabo Smol.
In response to the changes, Problem Child shared his gratitude for the opportunities and trust placed in him as a part of Black Motion.
“I am still grateful for the opportunities and the trust. So far, I appreciate the warm embrace from the people,” said Problem Child.
