This morning on Siz The World, host Sizwe Dhlomo shared a surprising story about a recent encounter with a service provider who is owed R3,500 for work done at one of his properties while he was out of the country.
The contractor reportedly called Dhlomo and demanded payment, saying, “Please pay before I come there or send my people over.” Dhlomo explained that he doesn’t typically deal with contractors directly regarding his properties. “There was a pool we needed done at one of my properties,” he said.
The contractor further accused Dhlomo of thinking he was ‘high and mighty,’ a comment that left the radio host incensed.
Dhlomo revealed that he even considered an unconventional response to the contractor’s attitude.
“I was thinking of hiring all his employees and taking them away. I’d buy them all the equipment and tell them to go work for themselves,” he said.
He then turned to his team in the studio and listeners for advice on how to handle the situation. “Should I be petty and buy the company and all its employees?” he asked.
While Dhlomo acknowledged that the contractor was right to request payment, he emphasised that he was unhappy with the man’s tone and approach.
