Movies have long been a cost-effective and enjoyable way to spend quality time with your significant other.
Whether it’s your first date or you’ve been in a long-term relationship, we all have films we consider a hit—or a miss—for date night.
On Drive 959 with Glen, the team delved into the question: “Does the type of movie depend on the type of date or how long you’ve been together? Is there a genre you know your partner won’t like? And do you insist on watching that movie anyway?”
Glen Lewis kicked off the conversation, sharing, “I do not like popcorn. I’m usually focused on other things. I will compromise and watch a movie I don’t like.” He added, “I’ve always loved history, so I’m more into Western and fantasy movies. But I’d always ask what my partner wants to watch.”
Kgomotso chimed in, revealing that horror movies are a definite miss for her. “I don’t like anything that volatile. I don’t mind action movies, even if they’re slightly gruesome,” she said.
Glen recalled a memorable experience: “I remember a woman, many years ago, invited me over to her house, and we watched the Chucky movies.”
Skhumba, on the other hand, admitted he’s not a fan of rom-coms. “I hate rom-coms and don’t like going to the movies because I can’t pause and have a conversation about the scene,” he shared.
