
E-hailing association speaks on the recent e-hailing attacks in Soweto.
E- Hailing asssociation spokesperson Vhatuka Mbelengwa recently spoke to Phemelo about the recent e-hailing attacks in Soweto after several cars were set alight in Maponya Mall and Protea Glen Mall.

Mbelengwa says a meeting will be held with all stakeholders involved to try and put an end to the violence.
“There were some altercation that happened in Protea, what I understand to have happened is that e-hailing operators blockaded some of the road demanding that these attacks on us stop. Which then created a disruptions as there was no movements in and out of the mall at Protea, we are heading to a meeting with various stakeholders, MMC should be there along with some e-hailing representatives.”

Following the meeting Joburg MMC Kenny Kunene joined Point of View with Phemelo Motene to give an update on the way forward.
Kunene says while he believes mini bus taxis are not to blame for the attacks, community members suspect there may be a third force fueling tensions in the area.
