Dr. Nasiphi Moya of ActionSA is the fourth mayor of the City of Tshwane in three years and has promised to leave the City of Tshwane in a better state than when she arrived.
On October 9, Moya was chosen by her fellow council members to be the country’s mayor. She defeated Cilliers Brink of the DA by 122 votes to 86.
The ANC, ActionSA, EFF, and other minority parties endorsed her candidacy after Brink was ousted on September 26th in a resolution of no confidence.
From 2014 until 2019, Moya served as chief of staff to multiple DA mayors in Tshwane, as well as working for the DA’s main office and Gauteng chapter.
Poinf of View with Phemelo Motene spoke to ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba, DA Gauteng leader Solly Msimanga and ANC Gauteng Spokesperson Lesego Makhubela.
