Remember there was a time last year where Skhumba declared loud and proud that he had written Bafana Bafana off for good, because he couldn’t continue supporting the national team after they had let him down so many times?
For Skhumba, writing off Bafana Bafana cannot be reversed, because he has reached the point were no amount of convincing can change that.
“I’ve blocked Bafana Bafana on Twitter, and I’m proud of it. I have no intention of giving them a second chance.”
Last year Skhumba wrote off Bafana Bafana but has since had a change of heart
That has evidently been brushed off by Skhumba now that Bafana Bafana is on a winning streak and determined to bring home the African Cup of Nations 2023.
After Nigerian supporters took to social media on Tuesday, 06 February to take the mickey out of South Africans, taunting that we were going to be sent home crying, it seems Skhumba has had a change of heart.
In true patriotism, the Kaya Drive stand-in presenter, along with Thomas, have proudly declared that the boys are going to make it to the finals of the competition.
Both Thomas and Skhumba echo coach Hugo Broos’ confidence in the boys, saying as strong as the Nigerian side is, the odds are in South Africa’s favour because this is a different tournament with different players and a different team, making anything possible.
