Not only are people taking risks to join the “mile high club” on board flights, it seems being in the confines of a plane makes some people a little stir-crazy.
As was evident when a man lost it on a flight over a baby who had been crying for more than 40-minutes non-stop.
Travelling with children can be overwhelming for parents and other passengers, because you’re all in confined space with nowhere to go, and often limited with options to calm down the crying child.
One of the main reasons babies cry on planes if because they don’t have good pressure equalization in the inner ear.
This is due to babies Eustachian tube not functioning as well as that of adults.
None of this mattered to a passenger on-board a Southwest airlines flight to Orlando, Florida in the US.
Tempers ran high on the flight which was stalled in holding due to bad weather.
With the baby crying uncontrollably, the US gentleman had enough and began yelling at the child’s parents to get the child under control.
Despite flight attendants doing everything to diffuse the situation and calm the man down, his rant over the baby’s cries were filmed by other passengers who couldn’t believe his reaction.
“I paid for a ticket to have a f**king comfortable flight. That child has been crying for over 40-minutes. I’m not screaming, do you want me to scream?
I’ll f**king scream. We are in a f**king tin can with a baby in a goddamn echo chamber and you want to talk to me about being f**king okay?”
Sizwe Dhlomo wanted to know if Kaya Drive listeners felt the man was over-reacting.
