A collective wave of support and good wishes was orchestrated by Kaya Drive stand-ins Thomas and Skhumba ahead of Gugulethu Mfuphi’s trek up Kilimanjaro.
The Kaya Biz host was taken by surprise when familiar voices played one after the next, each with their own personal message of support.
The surprise symbolized the close-knit bond that the Kaya 959 team shares. With genuine well-wishes and a strong sense of togetherness, the team expressed their solidarity with Gugu’s mission to empower girls and make a difference.
The Best T in the City, Feel Good with Andy Maqondwana, and Sol Phenduka were among the voices who cheered Gugu on ahead of her ascent.
In everything you do, you always raise the bar, and now physically you’re going to be above us all. There is no doubt that you’re going to do it. No doubt at all. But I think most importantly the girl child is going to be elevated with you. I think the one thing that we also need to celebrate is you for accepting this challenge. Congratulations and may God’s grace shine a light upon you and everyone taking this journey with you. Keep shinning Gugs!
Uncle T
Friend I am so happy for you and so proud of you for taking on the journey. I wish you all the best and I love that you’re doing it during Black Women’s month…so I know that you’re going to kill it …kilit.. Kilimanjaro.
Andy Maqondwana
Have as much fun as you can and just enjoy every moment out there at Kilimanjaro.
Skhumba
You know we love you right? I don’t even want to say anything becuase I know I’ll cry.
Thomas
All the best to Gugulethu Mfuphi and team. I hope you raise a ton of money and after it’s all said and done, I hope you feel on top of the world!
