Scaling New Heights for Women’s Empowerment and Social Impact
Gugu Mfuphi normally summits markets but will take a different path this Women’s Day and summit Mount Kilimanjaro.
Alongside an extraordinary group of women, Gugu is determined to conquer the heights of Mount Kilimanjaro on 9 August, all in the name of a greater purpose.
Partnering with the Imbumba Foundation, she aims to raise awareness and vital funds for the Caring4Girls programme, a commendable initiative in the fight against period poverty in South Africa.
With her extensive preparation and love for hiking, Gugu hopes to return from Kilimanjaro with unforgettable stories, empowering women and making a positive impact on society.
The symbolism of summiting on Women’s Day adds depth to the expedition, marking a celebration of female empowerment and solidarity. By sharing her experiences, challenges, and triumphs, Gugu hopes to inspire and uplift women across the nation, reinforcing the message that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
Gugu extends an invitation to corporates to join her in this endeavor and contribute to the Caring4Girls programme. By supporting this initiative, businesses can not only uplift the lives of young girls but also foster a future generation of empowered women who can realize their dreams without the burden of period poverty hindering their progress.
